The ministry of mending takes mendspiration from places and people in authority, but is not governmental or religious. It is all about helping, healing, giving, and solace. A ministry is an administrative department or the lending of care and support: this is both!
I do whatever I can in the service of the most ancient everyday humble technology. Mending has always kept the world together without much attention or thanks. Let us now spread the mend! Consider this:
Until about 1760 every textile, every garment was made by hand of natural fibers.
This represents over 6,000 generations
All of industrial textile production represents 10 generations

How? Start mending. Find, join or start a group--it's fun in a circle. This is ours, please come along, first Sunday of the month in Brooklyn. I am nearly done with my PhD A History and Theory of Mending and will be getting out more to continue various projects, like this prototype world map of mending.
