Hand & Lock Dress Fix

Amazingly, Hand & Lock, the 250-year-old embroidery maestri (the company not the sewers, duh) are now turning their Hands to Visible Mending despite being way too grand! They are, after all, by Royal Appointment.

As you can see, their VM operations are already distinctive and quite different from their normal intricate work: more playful, in short. Witness here a couple of their fixes on a distressed 1940s red-and-white-striped cotton sundress. The inside collar invisible but to the wearer patch; the same material as an overstitched underpatch (on the chest at the right) and--my favorite--the sinuous porthole defining and securing a pretty bad shoulder rip.
